In 2020 I started to write blog posts and created this website in order to share our global adventures with you. I was thrilled that so many of you signed up to receive our weekly, then bi-weekly new stories in your inbox. Since then we have written hundreds of blog posts about some 50 or 60 countries, from 3 months around Australia to hiking in Cambodia, from going to Saudi Arabia to traipsing across the Gobi Desert in Mongolia. And much in between….

Volunteering in Zambia
After a long online search, using Google maps for close-ups of the area where The Book Bus is located, I booked our accommodations in Kitwe where we would volunteer for two weeks. Kitwe is a mining city in northern Zambia, located in the Copperbelt, not far south from the border with Congo.

On the way back to the Book Bus compound, Kelly said, “You will want to see Victoria Falls while you are here. And, you know what? I have some funds left over in our budget. Let’s take some of the kids!” So a few days later we pick up 25 children at the community centre, in the Book Bus and take them on a field trip of their lifetime. These children live 10 KM from Victoria Falls but they have never seen it.
