We like going on a cruise. Why? Because we wake up in a new place without having to fly or drive there. Because we settle into one “hotel” room, unpack our stuff and don’t have to lug luggage around the world. Because we can do what we like: just have meals at a table for two, choose what we like, attend a good lecture or evening show if we feel like it, or just sit and read a book in the library. Leaving Southampton, England in winter we had to cross the Channel and make our way south on the Atlantic. We had no idea how huge the Bay of Biscay is… 

And even the dictionary knows what these waters are infamous for. When I checked the spelling, the dictionary told me: ‘a part of the North Atlantic Ocean between the northern coast of Spain and the western coast of France, noted for its strong currents and storms.’
